 This is what we worked on in class today.

 Today we had a sub, so we didn't do anything. I finished some notes from 3rd period and then I watched some netflix. After I took some notes, I checked to see what work I needed to catch up on. After class, I had practice and we were out there for about 3 hours. We went over plays before the first game, and we got our new uniform. After practice, Aniya took me home and we sat in her car for like another 2 hours. After we were done talking, we were hungry so we went and got Chinese food. 

First off, today is my birthday so that’s the most important part. But on another note, we watched multiple movie speeches and then listened for the rhetorical devices. We then did about 8 of them and then also gave examples of the rhetorical devices. That was pretty much and then we were let out of school. After that, I didn't go to practice so I went straight home and Naqouia came over. She was there for about 3 hours, and then she left. After that, I finished cleaning my room and went to sleep. 

 We started with a bellringer that was kind of a reminder of yesterdays song. After that we started back on the assignment that wasn't completed yesterday. We spent basically all the time finishing the assignment, and then we worked on our blog. I typically try to finish my blog before we leave class, but we didn't do much today. 

 Today we started the bellringer with the question what was temptation and if we have ever been tempted. We then moved on and started the assignment "Don't Do Drugs". We went through the song, verse by verse finding rhetorical devices and annotating it. After reading it through, we watched the music video for it. After that, I had practice as always and we play a scrimmage against the boys team. After practice we had a meeting about our game next week and how we could get better as a whole before then. And then around 6:40, I finally went home and iced my legs. 

 Before I give a reflection for todays class, I didn't know if we were supposed to do a blog on monday but I didn't really doing anything. I slept,watched gossip girl, and helped my mom cook. But for today, we looked at our grades and answered a questionnaire about how we were feeling about our grades. After that, we opened the rhetorical devices, and started on metaphor. We did 3 examples using cloud,light, and bridge. We then moved on to analogy and we were going to do exercise.1 but we ran out of time, so we just did out blogs. 

 Today we took a quiz on rhetorical devices and had to choose the correct definitions. We took the quiz until like early 2 o'clock.  We then got the rhetorical devices books again and went to the next device. We started back with d istinctio  and then followed up with a simile. We didn't do much, but on another note I had therapy this morning before I came to school. It lasted about an hour and then when my mom was dropping me off the front office changed a little, so she had to sign me in. Because coach P, thinks we worked pretty hard at practice he's letting us have the day off from practice despite having out first game in less that 2 weeks. I'm doing my first head of box braids this Saturday, so I am a bit nervous but i'm excited.    

 Today we started with a bellringer that required us to make a thesis statement about the rhetorical strategies that Martin Luther King Jr. spoke in his "I Had a Dream" speech. We then, went through our classmates answers and then went back through the rhetoric analysis thesis. We then got into groups of three, and got different prompt questions that we had to make a thesis about it. In the thesis, we had to use three different types of rhetoric devices, while answering the prompt. 

 Today we started our new notes on rhetorical analysis, breaking down "why,what,&how". We then took notes on how to write a thesis for a rhetorical analysis. We defined " Rhetorical devices , Rhetorical appeals , Diction, and Syntax." We got the "I have a Dream" speech by Martin Luther King Jr. and then we watched the live version. We went through everything he said, and analyzed rather or not it included certain rhetorical devices.

 Today, we started back where we left in the class from Monday. We went over the previous rhetoric devices we read about and then we started on rhetorical questions. There were no questions we had to answer in google classroom, so we came up with out own rhetorical questions. After that we moved on to a new term, and then that's when it went downhill because I was then taken over by the sudden urge to sleep. Unfortunately it won, but I was surprised because I thought taking my iron supplements would prevent me from getting super tired again. But I guess I was just genuinely tired, so sorry about that. 

 Today we officially came back to school and jumped right in to the work. We started by getting a book on  rhetoric and then going through 5 different types of rhetoric devices. We took notes and answered questions on google classroom about each one. After reading through the definitions and seeing a few examples, we then made three examples of our own and shared them. That was pretty much it, and then we were dismissed.
