Today we read another prompt sadly and used it to practice for when we write the actual essay. We also took notes, and wrote down 10 things that we as a class thought were unknown. After the list, we chose whether or not we thought looking into the unknown was necessary or not worth it. We made claims after choosing a side and then had to come up with evidence to support it. The team we were supposed to be playing forfeited again, so we were going to have regular practice but I decided to leave.
Today we took notes on claim. Our bell-ringer was asking us our opinion about late/tardy work and how we think it affected teachers and students. We learned about the three types of claims " claim of fact" "claim of value", and "claim of policy". We went through multiple examples and then matched it with each type of claim. We wrote down how we could write effective claims and why we need them. Overall it was pretty chill as usual, just took some notes and talked about them. And that was it for all my classes really, just note taking and discussions.
Today we went over a short story. We answered 8 questions on the story and tested our comprehension skills. We focused on how the narrator acted and his internal conflicts. We went over the questions, one by one and then checked other’s responses. I have practice again today, and then I have to try to find khakis for the fall sports banquet.
