Reflection 08-30-21

Today we took notes on claim. Our bell-ringer was asking us our opinion about late/tardy work and how we think it affected teachers and students. We learned about the three types of claims " claim of fact" "claim of value", and "claim of policy". We went through multiple examples and then matched it with each type of claim. We wrote down how we could write effective claims and why we need them. Overall it was pretty chill as usual, just took some notes and talked about them. And that was it for all my classes really, just note taking and discussions.

reflection 08-27-21

Hello!! It has been a few days, i have been slacking. But today we learned more about conducting a argumentative  essay. We went specifically over our claims and topic sentences and how to explain them. As a class we went through a crime sentence i believe its called and took it apart. We talked about the evidence we were given and if we could prove the defendant guilty or not. And then we went over another the same example where the evidence was broken down more and tied to the suspect and what the differences were. After that we went through a few more situations where we would chose if we were for or against it and why. And that was pretty much it.

Reflection 08-23-21

Helllooo. In todays class we started on rhetorical situations and when what situations we would use them in. We talked about the certain circumstances and what we call rhetorical situation users. I fell asleep mid-way through for some reason and that resulted in me loosing a lot of information, but I asked my peers for notes and attempted to catch up. I don’t really know how much depth i’m supposed to go into, but other than that it was a chill day.

Reflection 08-19-21

Good afternoon!! Groups 1&3 presented their poem analysis and asked us questions. We spent the whole period going over them and getting a better understanding. We finished up our work for groups 2&4 and then the bell rung.

Reflection 08-18-21

Hellooooo! Today we got into groups and were all assigned a poem. I was assigned group 4 and we had the poem “Dreams” by Langston Hughes. We were in a group of 6 and all had certain tasks we had to complete. I got summarizer and it was kind of easy. My group will present friday, so we have time to make sure everything is correct. Overall it was chill as per usual.

Reflection 08-17-21

Helloo! We read another poem today and talked about what it means to be an american. We read the poem “I,Too” by Langston Hughes and then annotated it. We also read “Dream Deferred” by mr.hughes and talked about our dreams and what could possibly happen that would stray us away from them. We answered 8 questions on the “I,Too” poem and discussed it in deep detail. And that was pretty much it, before we got our homework assignment and were dismissed.

Reflection 08-16-21

Good afternoon. Today we moved seats and got our composition books back. We went over our bellringer about what we thought the most important part of black history was. And then we read a poem by langston hughes titled “The negro speaks of rivers” and talked about how we could analyze it. We went over how we could break it down and interpret it and then we left. The day was very simple and the class went by pretty fast.

Reflection 8-13-21

Hello. This is my reflection from friday the 13th. We had two tests, a pre-test and a vocabulary test. We had gone over the vocabulary a few days before hand, so it gave us time to study. And the pre-test was pretty okay, it had few questions but lengthy texts. I was very tired so I kept zoning in and out but other than that it was a steady class period. It wasn’t very overwhelming and it went by slow.
